To report an accident:

Call the police:

• Call 911.
• Ask for a "perito" (police investigator).
• Wait for the investigator to arrive.
• Do not move the vehicles, if possible.

Call the insurance company:

• Report your claim as soon as possible and before leaving Mexico.
• Have your insurance policy handy.
• A representative will ask you questions about the event.
• You may need to wait for an adjuster and obtain a report.
• Take note of your claim number.

Tips:

• Do not accept money from others involved in the accident.
• Keep all documentation given to you.
• Obtain all reports before leaving Mexico to prevent payment delays or having to return to Mexico.
